Privacy & your choices
Explore the sky without an account. Personal records belong to your verified account and stay on the server.
Location & device
Location is used to calculate your sky. New permission is requested after your action; manual coordinates remain available. Time-zone lookup and an explicitly requested place-name lookup can send coordinates to the Yorungez server. Compass and optional camera use separate permissions. Camera recordings and sensor streams are not uploaded. Locations are not automatically saved into your account inventory.
Account & personal records
Registration requires first name, last name, email and password. Notes, favourites, observations, saved places and reminders are server records scoped to the signed-in account. Your account language follows you across devices; necessary cookies support sessions and language. Verification and reminders you explicitly create send transactional emails. Personal records are not added to the public offline pack or a persistent browser write queue.
Optional Google measurement
Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager load on public pages only after you accept. GA4 measures public page visits; GTM is a management container and initially has no additional tags. Query strings and fragments are removed from measured addresses. Account pages, personal records, search text, selected objects, coordinates and sensor values are excluded from analytics events. Ad personalisation, Google Signals and automatic form/search measurement are not enabled.
After consent, Google processes technical data such as network/IP connection information, browser/device details and cookie-based measurement identifiers. This is not a promise of anonymity. The optional preference cookie lasts six months. GA4 event-data retention is two months. Change your choice below; declining does not retract data already sent.
Public pack & external sources
Supported browsers cache only verified public sky files for offline use. Wikipedia images/descriptions and services you explicitly open, such as OpenStreetMap, can connect to their own providers. External links have their own privacy practices. Hosting and security services process technical connection information to serve requests; application logs exclude passwords, tokens and raw location.
